North Fig buys books for cash. We also accept donations.

 

We do all of our buying at the counter. Books are valued based on their condition and demand by our readers. We can not make any offers over the phone or via email. All offers are non-negotiable and final.

 

Donations significantly help your neighborhood bookshop. Donors will receive a voucher for 15% off their next purchase. If you’d like to donate, please email amadeus@northfigbookshop.com or visit us during our open buying hours.

 

Open Buying Hours:  Wednesday-Friday 2pm-6pm 

 

Walk-ins are welcome to bring no more than 30 books per week. This is usually 2 bankers boxes or 4 shopping bags. For larger lots please make an appointment. 

 

If you are not available during our open buying hours, please make an appointment by emailing our buyer amadeus@northfigbookshop.com. Please include an estimated quantity and general genre of books.

 

We are primarily interested in buying:

• Fiction 
• California interest (LA based authors, CA publishers, nature guides, relevant travel guides)
• Small press literature (fiction, essays, poetry)
• University press theory and history
• Cookbooks
• Occult/Esoterica

We welcome all kinds of books, but we ask that you follow these guidelines: 

• No damaged books (taped covers, broken binding, tears, water damage)
• No books with extensive highlighting or invasive annotations
• No discarded library books
• No textbooks
• No encyclopedias
