Join us on Thursday, Feb 16th for an exciting food-themed group reading by the Word of Mouth series, curated by Dare Williams. This will also be our first group reading in the space so we're especially thrilled. There's also going to be some delicious food grilled on site by Detroit Vesey and proceeds go to help the incredible work of The Sidewalk Project in Skid Row. See you there!

Michelle Meyers is originally from Los Angeles, CA, and her short stories have received honors from Ploughshares, Glimmer Train, and Wigleaf, among others. In addition, she was a 2015 PEN Center Emerging Voices Fellow in Fiction, and her first novel, Glass Shatters, was published by She Writes Press in April 2016 and selected as an Editor’s Pick in Literary Fiction by Foreword Reviews. Meyers graduated with a BA in Literary Arts from Brown University and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Alabama. She's pleased to be living in Los Angeles once more, where she is a professor in the Writing Program at the University of Southern California
Pete Hsu is a Taiwanese American writer based in the San Gabriel Valley. He is the author of the short story collection IF I WERE THE OCEAN, I'D CARRY YOU HOME and the experimental fiction chapbook THERE IS A MAN. He is currently working on a Chinese American revisionist-western tentatively titled SEBADOH.
Ron L. Dowell is the author of Watts UpRise, a poetry collection released by World Stage Press on July 13, 2022. Watts UpRise is a very public love letter to the city of Watts, Los Angeles. The collection honors its most notable artistic landmark, the Watts Towers, and its creator, Sabato Rodia. The Towers epitomize the beauty, strength, and resiliency of the city and its inhabitants and serve as a reminder that beautiful things must be kept heart close and loved. Ron’s poetry resides in Penumbra, Writers Resist, Oyster Rivers Pages, North Dakota Quarterly, The Wax Paper, Kallisto Gaia Press, The Penmen Review, Packingtown Review-Journal, and The Poeming Pigeon. Watts UpRise is a finalist for the 2022 Press 53 Award for Poetry, and a featured poem, “Compton, An Energy-Fueled Dark Star,” was nominated for a 2021 Pushcart Prize.
Sofia Fey is a Lesbian and Non-Binary writer living in LA. Currently, they are the founder of the Luminaries Poetry workshop, and poetry editor at Hooligan Magazine. They love to be with their friends, but mostly, to beat them at Mario Party. They tweet @sofiafeycreates.
Dare Williams is a Queer HIV-positive poet and literary worker rooted in Southern California. A 2019 PEN America Emerging Voices Fellow, he has received support/fellowships for his work from John Ashbury Home School, The Frost Place, Brooklyn Poets, Breadloaf, Tin House, and Vermont Studio Center. Dare’s poetry has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, Best of the Net, and Best American Poets. His work has been featured or forthcoming in Foglifter, Frontier, Poetry Northwest and elsewhere. He is an associate poetry editor at Hooligan Magazine, and He is currently an MFA student at Warren Wilson College. Follow him at Darewilliams.com.
